Best dining experience in Grand Lake! And very reasonably priced, at least by New York standards. The six-course dinner was delicious, and especially welcoming after a long day in the mountains. The staff is helpful, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing.

My husband and I just had dinner here and loved it. We have owned in Grand Lake for 2 years but never made it in for dinner. Can't believe we waited soooo long. Ambiance relaxing and upscale, food better than anything we've had anywhere ( and we travel nationwide quite a bit) and the service was impeccable. Plan on making this a weekly date night.

After reading the reviews we decided to stop by the Bistro to check out the crepes. We decided to try different crepes, but did try to ask for the sauce on the side for the mushroom crepes. No can do. The sauce is already in the crepe. That's weird. So we went ahead with the order, with the sauce. I glance over and notice the 'chef' unwrapping pre-made crepes and spooning room-temperature filling into each of the crepes. Then she popped them in the microwave for a quick zap. Yes, a microwave, right in the bar area! To add insult to injury, the sauce was spooned in a large pile underneath and on top of the crepe. I gave 2 stars basically for the salad, which was decent, and the flavor of the crepe filling which was not bad provided you didn't see the microwaving action. Oh and they didn't take American Express even though on the door there was an AMEX sticker. It's fine if you don't take that card, but don't false advertise.

This is a hidden mountain gem. I was looking for a place to propose to my girlfriend and I lucked out finding the O-A Bistro. They were very accommodating to food allergies replacing normal menu items with spectacular creations. We really enjoyed the wine pairings (only $20 for 4 decent pours) and the potato soup. I had the mussels on pasta w/marinara and it was really good. She had the lasagna which was a lovely cheesy dish crisp on top and delicious all the way through. We saw the pot pie and it looked excellent as well. The dessert pastry was light and flakey and finished the night wonderfully. All of the staff was super nice (bought us flowers for the engagement) and the chef did a great job. This isn't a place you get out of quickly, but it is an amazing romantic dinner place that is pretty cheap for 5 courses (~$50 ea including wine)

Ok at first glance we were pretty optimistic. After browsing the menu my wife and I made our selections, she selected the vegetarian crepe paired with a white wine! I selected the roast beef crepe with cheddar and water (as I was driving). The chirp of the microwave should have been our first clue... 2d that, a few of these yelp reviews should have been our first stop before selecting this place! Back to the crepes...Which were frozen or pre-made! My wife was attempting to muscle down her second bite as I glanced at her while I was trying to eat my first bite! The roast-beef was terrible and fatty! The cheddar clearly came out of bag of government cheese! I requested the bill fully expecting the waitress to inquire if something was wrong! Needless to say she did not and for the first time in my life I did not leave a tip! Don't be fooled skip this place! 1 star for the wine!

This is, by far, the best dining experience in Grand Lake. The six course meal with paired wine tasting makes for such a unique experience in a quant mountain town. Most importantly, the chefs are excellent AND are very skilled at creating unique dishes for those with special diet restrictions. If you are Diabetic, Vegan, Vegetarian, Paleo, or simply South Beach or Low Sodium - O - A Bistro will take special interest in making you the most amazing six courses with ingredients that work for you! And if you don't have time for a six course meal - just stop in for a glass of wine and plate of cheese.

We stopped by this place since it was very late and we couldn't find a place to spend the night in Grand Lake. We had no expectations going in, but we were surprised at the quality of service we got from our server. We weren't rushed and the food was great, even our son's pb&j sandwich was delicious! She knew we would be driving back to Denver so she gave us coffee to go without us even asking for it.

We just returned from our anniversary weekend in Grand Lake, where we had the pleasure of dining at O Bistro for the second time. We had been there 2 years before, and had an amazing dinner. The staff actually remembered us (and where we sat) after 2 years! Just like the first time, the meal was amazing... 5 small plate courses that were rich in imagination and flavor plus your choice of entre. My partner is vegetarian, and they were able to come up with amazing alternatives to all courses with meat. We had told them it was our anniversary, and were treated as special VIPs the entire evening. The entire experience is superb, and you are made to feel not as a tourist, but as a cherished guest for your stay at O. We highly recommend it!

Great little gem. Maybe 7 tables, 6 courses for one low price. Pork Chops were great, but they change menu once a week so who knows what's next!

Wow. My fiance and I walked into O A Bistro after the lack of seating and "what-are-you-doing-here" attitude turned us off of the brewery across the street. And, damn, am I glad. One of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life and incredibly reasonably priced. A five course meal that I would have happily eaten in Denver and expected to drop at least $100, and yet I enjoyed it in Grand Lake for $86.00 including tip, and a bottle of very nice Malbec. Additionally, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. A fantastic restaurant, and even more impressive for its location in the mountains. Definitely stop by if you're in the area. With a menu that changes weekly, you are sure to be in for a treat.

We stumbled upon this little bistro while on our Christmas vacation in Grand Lake and had a wonderful Christmas-eve dinner. We had five courses of well prepared and presented food (including a delicious butternut squash soup and for desert homemade Christmas pudding). Everyone was wonderfully friendly and welcoming to this gem of a restaurant. Made for a memorable evening.

This restaurant was a great find! I searched through yelp and most restaurants had mediocre reviews, but this one was amazing. We all had the 6 course meal, each of us eating for less than $25, and very course was delicious! You can also get a wine pairing for every course for around $20. It was a great price for amazing food! Reservations are recommended, and they change their menu weekly from what I was told.

Because this is a relatively new restaurant, I was somewhat hesitant trying it. Didn't have to be. A great addition to Grand Lake!

Just when you think you've discovered a new hot place for your Yelp buddies to try out . . . it's then you find out how you don't know a thing and the train left months ago without you. That said, I still gotta tell you about a place that I thought just opened, but when I check out Yelp I see it's already been reviewed a couple of times, and apparently has been open since some time in 2009. The place is "O's-A Bistro" in Grand Lake, and with the virtual demise of The Terrace and the "I'm-the-only-excellent-dining-site-in-Grand-Lake-so-I-don't-have-to-try-to-be-creative" attitudeof The Rapids, this place is the best restaurant for fine dining in Grand Lake these days. Olney (the owner) is doing what so many people say they want to do: She's never had a restaurant before, and she's created this special little (and I do mean very small) bistro that serves a 6 course meal, with a changing menu every week. You pick the entree and the rest comes out as though its a prix fix menu with varying main courses. Each of the entrees is differently priced, so if you want the pasta, the cost of the meal goes down, but you still get the same other 5 courses as your dining companions, who may have chosen things like pork tenderloin or Ligurian salmon, or what I had, the chicken marsala. Her prices are ridiculously low, and their wine list is very reasonably priced. All entrees were served with an amuse bouche--that night a crostini with smoked trout--followed by an appetizer (excellent bresaola stuffed with riccota and basil which was wow-good); a delicious salad; a soup (best portobello cream soup I've ever eaten anywhere/anytime:-); the entree--your choice--and then a scrumptious dessert (peaches in pastry with freshly made whipped cream, last Sunday). Amazing to get that kind of food in Grand Lake. And amazingly good, too. In addition, they also run a creperie/bakery that's attached, as is a small bar, on the other side. It's right on the southwest corner of Main St. where the middle-of-the-street stop sign sits. Olney and her gang are doing a great job, and you'll be pleased as mountain punch if you give them a try. Plus, it's about to be elk bugling time in the high country, and watching/listening to that alpine spectacle after having a fine dinner at O's would be a high country combo that couldn't be beat.

Cannot say enough great things about this place! Group of 6 people for a 30th birthday and it was such a great place! The staff ( Tina) and chef ("O") were so amazing and the food was phenomenal! I've eaten at a lot of fancy Denver restaurants and this place was among the best I've ever been at! Each course was delicious and the main dish was so delicious!
